FAQs

What is Tuscaloosa Home Educators (THE)?

THE is a growing part of the Tuscaloosa homeschooling community. In addition to providing athletic teams for students, we also host an annual back to school swim party and used book sale.  Our monthly newsletter is a mainstay that provides information about social, academic and resource opportunities. Looking forward, THE has ideas to expand opportunities into things like Moms’ meet and greets.

Can I use THE as my cover school?

No. THE is not a cover school but rather a hub of information about opportunities that relate to homeschooling.

What are the benefits of being a member?

As a THE member you will be the first to know of opportunities around town that appeal to homeschoolers.  Families participating in Warrior athletics must be members.

Why do I have to pay dues to be part of THE?

In order to host events, THE must have an insurance policy. As well, venue rental for the events we host and modest administrative costs must be covered.

I’ve heard THE is just for sports and my kids don’t play sports. Is there anything in THE for me?

Yes, there is! And those reasons are growing.  THE has a desire to foster community among Tuscaloosa homeschoolers through parent events as well as student events. We have a desire for our FB group to be interactive and a valuable place to share and receive information and ideas.
