About Us

Tuscaloosa Home Educators (THE) is a membership based, Christian organization dedicated to serving home educators and students by providing support, encouragement, and activities. We believe that God is the center of all that we do which includes the rearing of our children. We believe in the authority and inerrancy of the Bible. We also believe that it is the parents’ God-given role and responsibility to train and educate their children. As taught in Ephesians 6:4: “Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord.”

THE functions as a clearinghouse of information regarding opportunities for homeschoolers in the Tuscaloosa area.  Dues are $15/year for the entire family and entitles members to full access to our website where opportunities are posted regularly.  Members are also added to the private "Official" THE Facebook group where community abounds! Annual events such as commencement, the back-to-school swim party and parent seminars are highlights of the year.  Membership to THE is required for sports eligibility.
