Lady Warriors Volleyball 2020 Season Meeting

If you have a daughter that is planning to play, interested in playing, or would just like to learn more about THE Warriors volleyball for 2020, please see below -

We hope this email finds all of you well, despite the ongoing uncertain times we are in.  We wanted to make you all aware of a couple important and exciting updates.

1. Most importantly, we have a new volleyball coach for the 2020 season!  We are very excited to announce that Dana Deason has agreed to lead the team this upcoming season.  A note from Dana with some information about her background is below.  Dana comes with very high praise from everyone we have spoken to that knows her.  We have met with her several times.  We are very excited and think she is going to do a great job.

2. We have set a date for a pre-season meeting for parents and players on Thursday, June 4 at 6:30pm in the Campus View Auditorium at University Church of Christ.  Dana will be there, along with members of the Athletics Committee.  This will be a time to get to know Dana and also discuss details about the upcoming season.

3. Speaking of the upcoming season, as of now, the Conference is planning to begin the athletic year on normal schedule.  This means voluntary conditioning/fun nights beginning in June (details to be discussed at the parent meeting), mandatory practice in July, and games beginning in August.  If anything changes on these dates, we will let you know.

Feel free to let us know if you have any questions.  Thanks.

About the coach:

I am so excited to be able to coach your children this year, but first let me tell you a little about me. My name is Dana Deason. I am married to Cole Deason and we have 4 kids: Gavin(12), Maggie(10), Grady(8), and Wyatt(6). I have lived in the Tuscaloosa area my whole life and graduated from the University of Alabama with an Accounting Degree. Our family has been enjoying homeschooling since our oldest started Kindergarten!

I have loved playing volleyball since before I can remember. I played throughout junior high and high school, and also played in the Club travel team during all those years. After college, my husband and I played in a co-ed league for a short time. I have never coached before but look forward to taking the challenge and teaching the love of volleyball to all your girls!
